Shoreham Wordfest: No Laughing Matter: Simon Brett and Lynne Truss

With the notable exception of a small handful of greats, humour in crime can be a hard sell. Two of the wittiest writers in crime discuss why that is, before Simon performs his hilarious one-man play Lines of Enquiry.
Simon Brett is responsible for the Charles Paris, Mrs. Pargeter, Fethering and Blotto & Twinks series of crime novels, as well as writing comedy for radio and television. He was awarded an OBE for services to literature and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Lynne Truss is a prolific writer of comedy sketches such as the radio series Life at Absolute Zero, and comic novels such as the Constable Twitten series, set in Brighton. Her latest novel is A Shot in The Dark featuring Inspector Steine.
