DESCRIPTION:Adur Green Party is delighted to be hosting an illustrated talk on this hugely influential project. \nEric and Catrine are a father and daughter team that runs Sussex Underwater – a community group promoting marine conservation by inspiring a love of local sea creatures. \nIn 2021\, through the work of people like Eric Smith (who highlighted the devastating and long-term ecosystem damage caused by bottom-towed fishing gear)\, Sussex implemented a ban on fishing trawlers directly off its coast. Now\, Eric and Catrine spend their time showcasing the extraordinary recovery already happening in Sussex Bay as a result of the ban\, and as featured in the BBC documentary: ‘Our Lives\, Our Seaforest’. \nDive into the depths of the Sussex coast with us on 8 November as we explore the Kelp Forest Rewilding Project with Catrine and Eric. However\, book soon as these talks are popular\, and places are limited. \nTickets are £5 to cover costs and remunerate the speakers.
